Janine Jutima
Meditation Instructor
Acknowledgments
With infinite love and gratitude to all who accompany me on this journey toward awakening the heart.
Thank you very much,
Janine Jutima
My name is Janine Jutima, and I have been a Meditation Instructor at the Dhiravamsa Meditation School since 2015, following the teachings and legacy of Master Dhiravamsa.
Since 2021, I have continued the work of promoting Vipassana meditation, just as we did together for almost a decade, as his translator, organizer, disciple, and partner, accompanying him every step of the way and learning from him to live a harmonious and fulfilling life with simplicity and love. After his passing, my commitment to the practice has taken on a new dimension. It is no longer just for my own growth, which continues every day and every moment, but also to ensure that the Master's teachings remain alive and accessible to all those who are drawn to them.
Therefore, I have continued to organize all retreats and meditations both in person and online, in the same way that I have been doing alongside Master Dhiravamsa, maintaining the form and content to respect and honor his legacy, from the Dhiravamsa Meditation School.
In 1996, at the age of 15, Janine Jutima had her first encounter with Taoist Chinese Medicine through physician Reinaldo Nunes Batista. This meeting marked the beginning of an intense alternative search into health, illness, and the essence of the human being. For a period of four years, she became a member of the spiritual organization Self-Realization Fellowship and the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, founded by Sri Paramahansa Yogananda. During that time, she learned and practiced yogic techniques of meditation, concentration, and energization.
In 2005, at the age of 24, she participated in her first intensive yoga retreat at Agama Yoga, founded by Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, in Thailand. From then on, she continued her spiritual path, taking part in various courses, therapies, retreats, and events.
In 2009, at the age of 28, she began a daily Vipassana meditation practice and attended meditation, Chi-kung, and inner growth retreats organized by the Karuna Association in the Canary Islands. She also began teaching Integral Yoga classes at this association.
In 2011, at the age of 30, she graduated as a physiotherapist from the Garbí University School of Physiotherapy in Girona. One year later, she completed her therapeutic studies in Holistic Therapy, THS Method, created by Juan Diego Sánchez Cortijos. She has worked as a physiotherapist and holistic therapist in various therapy centers and in her own clinical practice.
In 2013, at the age of 32, she decided to dedicate herself fully and deeply to Vipassana meditation under the guidance of her teacher, Vichitr Ratna Dhiravamsa. For eight years, she shared a deeply enriching life with this exceptional being. Throughout those years, she accompanied him to all meditation retreats, talks, and conferences as his translator, disciple, and partner.
In 2015, after participating in a one-month retreat in Bujedo with Master Dhiravamsa, she received the Dharma transmission according to the Theravada Buddhist tradition. From that moment on, she embarked on her path as a Meditation Teacher, guiding others in the practice of meditation. Her experience and dedication have led her to assume this role with commitment and devotion to all beings.
On July 28, 2021, she accompanied Master Dhiravamsa, Aggapandita, in his transition to parinibbana. This event left a profound mark on her spiritual path.
In 2022, she completed the Mindfulness Master program at Mahachulalongkorn Rajavidyalaya University in Thailand, the same university where Master Dhiravamsa studied.
At present, she continues to practice and teach the legacy of Master Dhiravamsa through meditation sessions and meditation retreats, both in person and online. She preserves the same structure and content that characterized the meditation retreats with Dhiravamsa, thus maintaining the integrity of his teaching.
With every step she takes, Janine Jutima shares the tools and transformative experiences she herself has lived, with the aim of bringing well-being, health, and physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual balance to all beings.
May all the benefits of this practice be for the good of all sentient beings.
